On a mission to make commuting convenient in the City

Gone are the days when buses screeched by at alarming speeds causing you to worry for your life every time you were out on the road. Increasing safety measures for drivers, passengers and most importantly pedestrians are being rolled out while concerns regarding commuting in the city with its heavy traffic and blocks remain.

The mission is to make commuting within the city easy and the check boxes are slowly being ticked off. Arrival of the Kochi Metro will definitely make it easier for city commuters and to further ease things, private buses in the city are joining together to operate under seven companies. A combined committee under the Kochi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd is trying to redesign transport infrastructure to allow cooperation among the different means of public transport.

KMRL is also initiating methods to incorporate other means of transport including Autorickshaws and Cabs into this fabric forming a sort of feeder service for Kochi Metro as well. Metro rail has begun service trials on the Aluva- Palarivattom stretch after receiving clearance certificate, the fastest compared to other metro projects in the country. Kochi Metro will soon be open for its commercial run. Like everyone, we too are excitedly watching the face of Kochi change before us.
