School students all set to make Kerala proud

Students develop mobile application, win tickets to California

Class IX students of Choice School, Trupunithura are totally excited to have won tickets to Tie-The Young Entrepreneurs, a global level competition to be held in California, USA. A mobile phone application named ‘Campus Communique’ that was developed by these brilliant kids won them this great opportunity. The team will leave on Wednesday.

Campus Communique is an application that helps to connect all stakeholders at schools such as students, teachers, parents and the management. Each and every activity of the student can be recorded and tracked by parents using this app. The student/parent can also communicate with the teachers and also place an order at the cafeteria. Another feature of the app is the option to pay the fee, said NaliniSubramaniam, Vice- President (Academic), Choice School.

Campus Communique from the Choice School won first prize for the School Ecosystem App which incorporated all school activities in one mobile application.

Six teams – four from Bhavans and two from Global Public School-contested in the finals of the global competition.

Our app is not for any particular school or state, it can be used by any school or student,” said AravindThadi, leader of the student’s team. Sunny, George Rohan, ZayaanSait, Joel Korah and Kevin Johnson are other members of the winning team.The students from the school will be facing stiff competition with 19 other teams from all over the world that include three others from India, 15 teams from America and one from Melbourne, Australia.

TYE (TiE Young Entrepreneurs) is a TiE Global initiative dedicated to chapters integrating classroom sessions; mentoring and a Startup competition aimed at High School students (grades 9-12 or equivalent).
