Kerala Govt to introduce SVEP scheme for startups

About 12 startup projects have been announced by the Kerala Government under the State Poverty Eradication Mission’s Kudumbashreeprogramme. According to the reports, the projects will be part of the Startup Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP). The SVEP projects that have already been implemented in Parakkode block in the southern district of Pathanamthitta and in Ernakulam’s Vadavukodu block, will be introduced in all districts across the state. Around Rs 6.5 cr has been allocated for each block, according to officials.
This programme will especially benefit the entrepreneurial ventures in rural areas and will offer financial as well as technical support to over 2,000 startups operating in the state.According to a report by The Indian Express, Around 60% of the total corpus will be provided by the Union Government. With the support from the Kudumbashree National Resource Organisation, performance improvement programmes will also be conducted to assist existing companies.
