DC Book Fest is held at Marine Drive, Ernakulam

The 25th DC International Book Fair & Cultural Fest is being held at Marine Drive, Ernakulam from July 30 to August 15, 2017.
Speaking during a book release, Malayalam University Vice Chancellor K Jayakumar said, “A society battling illness will not be able to provide an atmosphere conducive for poetry to a flourish. Poetry is entirely different from other literary works. Even though poetry has few takers, it has a resounding effect on the society and culture.Poetry is a lot more profound from other literary works. Language and society without poetry will definitely go to ruins.”
KaripuzhaSreekumar’s‘Uppa,’ K Jayakumar’s‘Nilpumarangal,’ Sebastian’s ‘Attupogathathu’ were the books released during the event.
Above 10 lakh books authored by Indian and foreign writers are exhibited in the fair and selected books are available at 50% discount rate. Cultural meeting, Book releases and discussions are the major attractions of the festival.
