Onam Coir Carnival 2017 kicks off in Thiruvananthapuram

With an aim to explore and expand the international and domestic market for coir products from Kerala, Onam Coir Carnival 2017 kick started in Thiruvananthapuram. The Carnival was inaugurated by TM Thomas Isaac, Minister for Finance and Coir Development on August 1, 2017.

The Carnival will be held in 14 districts for one month. In order to widen the market for coir product about 50 per cent discount is offered to the products sold through the stalls. Coupons priced for Rs 1000 will offer coir products worth Rs 2000 to customers shopping from the stalls. Weekly lucky draws with exciting prices is another major attraction of the event.

Onam Coir Carnival is a lead on to the International Coir Kerala event which will be held at EMS stadium in Alappuzha from October 5 to 9. Coir Kerala 2017 is organised by the Department of Coir Development under the Ministry of Coir, Government of Kerala with the support of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.
